So once upon a time there were two lovely girls. These two girls went to Greece, they had a lovely time there, on the islands of Mykonos and Santorini. Now they wanted to get from Athens to patras to catch the ferry to Italy. 'That won't be too hard, we'll just take the train' says one of them. So off they trek, down the road. It wasnt long before they got to the train station. They asked the information person which train to take and how long it will take and where to catch it. 'Just there, at 11:50, it will take 3 hours'. Easy done they think, so off the trod to the platform to wait for their train. Sure enough the train arrives, they hop on and sit and wait. They get their music out and settle down for a 3 hour train ride. About an hour into the ride, the train stops at a station for longer than the other stations, 'are we suppose to get off?' Says one. 'Nah' says the other so they sit tight and wait. When the train starts moving again though they quickly realise they are headed straight back from where they came. So the first one gets up to ask another passenger where this train is headed 'Athens' he says.. 'Oh dear' she thinks.. 'Where are you headed?' He asks. 'Patros' she replies. 'Oh you can get off at Inoi in 3 stops time and get the train from there' so off she heads back the other and reports back. And so they get off at Inoi to find a totally deserted train station. They find someone at the ticket booth to help them, they get new directions and need to wait another hour before the next train. At this stage it has taken about 3 hours.
When the train comes they get on board, and wait for their station, SKA, and when they get to it they hop off only to find another half deserted station. Some very kind person stops to help and tells us to walk to another platform and get on the train from there. So off the trod again, down some stairs, down an elevator and around some corners to find the platform that looks like what they are looking for. So they ask a security guard and he says 'yes next train' so next train it is, 'you have to get off at Corinth and swap trains' he says. So they get on the train, and get off at Corinth. They go to find the platform for patros at the information booth. 'No, can't catch that train from here have to go to Kiato' she tells them. 'Sigh' they had just got off that train. 'You have to catch the next one because it is the last one for the day' so they find some coffee to keep them going and go and sit down. They meet a nice Aussie Greek man who tells them exactly what to do and how to do it. It has now taken 7 hours. They go to wait out the next hour on the platform so they don't miss the train. When they finally make it to Kiato and find the bus stop to go to Patros they have to wait another hour for the bus which will take an hour and half to get to Patros they are existed, hungry and just sick of waiting. So they find some coke for sugar and wait former bus. Well did they make it to Patros?? Did they catch their ferry?? Did they get some food??
Yes, no and yes :)
We found a nice little hotel to sleep the night, we found to place to get tickets for the ferry and the time to catch the ferry, so we are all set for tomorrow. What a day. But the thing was once we past the time of the ferry departure we just were like 'let's just get there.. I don't even care any more' haha.. So we made it, found some food and plan to relax tomorrow morning, and take ferry in the evening.
